NEW 2014 Nerf Zombie Strike Doublestrike and Slingfire

New 2014 Nerf Zombie Strike blasters!
Super thanks to my good friends Dartblaster.de for the tip off on the new blaster. I was giving presentations in college and other delightful activities so I got to say, i'm loving it! It's like a Derringer (below)!

Set for release this year, it's a hammer operated, double barrel blaster that fires 2 darts. I assume it's got a Smart AR so it fires which ever barrel is loaded, or in a set order - a reduced Rough Cut basically.

As a fun blaster I see a lot of potential steampunking here and also some innovative modding.

We also get a better look at the NEW 2014 Nerf Zombie Strike Slingfire with some perspective on a kidult :P It looks like a meaty yet streamlined profile blaster.

One thing I noticed is that if you pay close attention it says Nerf N-Strike Elite Double Strike and then Nerf Zombie Strike Doublestrike. So was this originally heading for the Elite line...? I hope Tactical Tag or SBNC - or those with awesome Microsoft Paintshop skills can hit us up with Elite versions :)

EDIT:

Update from Hasbro
"NERF ZOMBIE STRIKE DOUBLESTRIKE Blaster

(Ages 8 years & up/Approx. Retail Price: $9.99/Available: Fall 14)

When zombies are on the loose, double dart firing power is a necessity. Load two ZOMBIE STRIKE darts into the DOUBLESTRIKE blaster, pull back on the hammer mechanism, and fire to unleash both darts in a row! Blaster includes two ZOMBIE STRIKE darts. Available at most retailers nationwide and hasbrotoyshop.com"

I got to say, Zombie Strike is looking super awesome so far.

Will this be making its way in to your collection or mod projects? Let us know!

  1. I think I found the blaster that I can mod into a nice Flintlock pistol, Expect for the Green, that Baby Hammershot looks so awesome, I can't wait to get my hands on it to see what all I can do with it, and if it works out the way I want it to this is going to be my selling point of the larp I am a part of...

  8. I spy future Noir inspired paintjobs and roleplays.

  9. that would be cool but the ak would need to be ether semi auto or fully auto with marksman sight.

  10. After the update, I have to say I prefer the aesthetics of the original prototype... It just looks fare more impressive with less space between the barrels. With the huge gap, gotta say I am a bit let down.

  11. I feel you, but they're probably covering their bums in case somebody paints it black or chrome and gets shot becase it was mistaken for a real gun. Would be my guess why they changed it.

  12. Full auto for gods sake, why even go back to semi? Especially on a toy AK47 lookalike :D

  13. I can't help but notice Hasbro's description of the gun's operation:

"pull back on the hammer mechanism, and fire to unleash both darts in a row!"

    "both darts in a row"

Does anyone else get the feeling that this could be a two-stage trigger mechanism, like the Barrel Break or Rough Cut? Or perhaps it may just fire both darts simultaneously?

If so, this could finally be the true successor to the Barrel Break (in both appearance and function) that I've been waiting so long for!

  14. I intended full auto

  15. Personally, I'm just disappointed with how far the darts stick out the end of the barrels.

  16. fully- auto is good but you would not use as many darts using semi-auto a ak-47 is really both semi-auto and fully-auto unless it's not military issue.
