NEW Nerf Elite Demolisher blaster!

NEW Nerf Elite Demolisher blaster! What a blast from the past ;) Info and background after jump.
I had the pleasure of playing with this what seems many moons ago! I'm glad to see it take shape a little more defined, but i'm not surprised it is still in prototype mode. It was referred to as Rayzorback. As we know the Revonix360 went thru several changes from a detachable drum to a fixed permanent internal drum.

So the particulars below, broken by Popular Mechanics:

"Nerf N-STRIKE ELITE DEMOLISHER 2-IN-1 Blaster

(Ages 8 years & up/Approx. Retail Price: $39.99 /£39.99/Available: Fall 14)
Take NERF shots to the next level with the 2-IN-1 blaster that dominates both MEGA and ELITE missions! The DEMOLISHER 2-IN-1 blaster is impressive in size and power firing up to 100 feet, featuring semi-motorized blasting, a 10 dart banana clip, and all new missiles. Connect NERF scopes and lights to the blaster’s top Tactical Rail System and set sights on some of coolest NERF shots performed. Blaster includes two missiles and 10 N-STRIKE ELITE darts. Four AA batteries required, not included. Available at most major retailers nationwide and HasbroToyshop.com."

It's an absolute beast of a blaster. Hasbro has not failed with these advances. What advances MLD? Well the point of this repaint scheme is to house the new smart internals for the new Elite range. Hence the reason for phasing out the Elite Blue/White scheme and the defunct N-Strike (yellow) series. From the info you can see that this is a staple for the new Elite range, to hit 100ft ranges (angled). With the Mega range now setting the scene for Nerf, the other lines have to match up or lose out. Competition is edging up its game, so Hasbro have had to meet the challenge head on.

Another thing we see is the undersling grenade launcher. This is something I mentioned back last year, and it's really great to see it come to fruition and develop some more. IIRC it has up to 50 ranges (at the time this was flat, but perhaps they have had to change this design to match toy laws). The undersling goes 3/4 of the way forward (easy to break when dropped?) and then pops off the round with some power. This is definitely up for modding - how much? We will have to wait and see.

This blaster will pack 3 tac-rails - 1 top, 1 side, 1 under muzzle.

The other thing which I mentioned in a recent podcast was the fact that we will see new accessories in the new OJ scheme. I believe there will be 6 new laser sights, 3 for Elite (includes Mega), 1 Dart Tag (hint hint), Zombie Strike and 1 for Vortex. The Stocks and Sights again there should be 6 broken down in the same fashion. But it will not end there, for now I will leave it at that until I get the ok from Hasbro. The whole awesome look of the Masterkey mod has to be heralded as inspiration for the 2-1.

The Banana clips feature new smart spring tech which will fix the loading errors fans faced when using fly-wheel blasters. Some fans reported to have this on standard slam-fire or regular prime blasters. The fly-wheel tech has been changed to accommodate the requirement of more more firepower. Ever since they put out the Rapidstrike, they have been up against it to match it in the new range (I'm calling it OJ Strike). The clips will be sold in single accessories as well as bonus packs of 2 clips, 20 darts + blaster.

I'm looking forward to the other compliments to this range, you won't be disappointed believe me. For now, expect the whole Elite range as you know to be overhauled and reworked.

A HvZ gamechanger? I don't know, perhaps. With Masterkey mods pretty much limited to knowing someone who can do it or being talented to do it for yourself these will prove a decent catch. What it depends all upon is the fact of it's rate of fire, ability of pop darts without jams or issue and it's range and accuracy. With those elements put to the test, we will know the answer - expect it fast from the modsmiths!

2014 is going to be a pretty awesome year. Who's up for this? Because you ai n't seen nothing yet :P

My question is - has Elite (blue/white) had long enough on the shelf?

  1. Wow! This blaster looks fantastic as do the sound of the accessories you mentioned. It is indeed going to be a good 2014, or early 2015 for us here in NZ!

  2. Looking forward to seeing what else is in store for this year, the Zombiestrike line just is a bit underwhelming.

I love this new blaster, the banana clip and masterkey are welcome steps forward. So if I'm understanding you correctly, a tac rail under muzzle means the masterkey is removable and could theoretically be mounted on to other Elite blasters?

  3. There is a lot more to come from the Zombie Strike line JP - so hang in there!

I LOVE the new Demolisher. It's there to replace the Stryfe - keep an eye out ther eis a lot more replacement happening soon ;)

  4. Haha yeah it looks sweeeeet man! So did you make a Masterkey at all? I can't wait to dual wield this badass

  5. This is going to be intense! 2014 is going to be a crazy year for Nerf. I feel like Hasbro is trying to get rid of us modders or simply just giving us what we want for a change; combo blasters & amazing ranges. The Zombiestrike series has definitely caught my eyes with a few blasters, The Slingfire & Hammershot for the most part. Both are very different from anything Nerf has released (to my knowledge). Also, with the Rebelle series being out, they can make blasters beefier & a tad more masculine so they don't have to worry about sacring off the little girls wanted to play with their brothers blaster.

  6. So will all the old n strike elite guns get revamped or replaced I do mean ALL plus the n strike blue repaints, also if the white Vulcan is part of the new line why is its color scheme inverted, with that is the new oj stryfe upgraded to take the new tech or is it a reshell

    ReplyDelete
  7. Sorry for the double post but to continue is the white roughcut also upgraded, is this new tech backwards compatible, I heard the oj was just a colour change or is there new tech in the Blasters, I'm so confused and don't want to HAVE to replace my old blue with the new orange unless EVERYTHING gets oranged

    ReplyDelete
  8. There are some reshells, but they will all have successors with new internals.

    ReplyDelete
  9. N-Strike is being phased out already, so those are not being reshelled. The Elite blue/white blasters will be in part reshelled and given complete new blasters.

  10. So I guess I'm just collecting orange now please tell me a new Rapidstrike is coming, those new clips aren't backwards compatible are they and are the new oj stryfe and white roughcut part of this also are old clips compatible sorry to ask so many questions just so confused

  11. So EVERY Gun is getting an OJ successor? Sorry if I'm getting annoying

    ReplyDelete
  12. ONE last set of questions, is the new and old clip systems compatible, and is that white roughcut part of the new OJ scheme

    ReplyDelete
  13. Great, I just spent a fortune on 12 clips for my duel hailfires, now I have to buy more...

    ReplyDelete
  14. Will there be a hail fire re-shell? or something similar?

    ReplyDelete
  15. SICK I WILL BUY THIS

    ReplyDelete
  16. it looks like the missile launcher can be detached.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I will miss the blue and white, but this blaster is pretty cool. I wish they sold two kinds of color schemes.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Why can I only see 10/17 comments

    ReplyDelete
  19. The Vulcan is a commission by Argos (like Walmart get exclusives). It isn't anything special, no internal changes, the belt is slightly different that's all. The new OJ Stryfe and RC are just reshells.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I don't think that Hasbro can ever get rid of modders! If anything you guys HELP create more new blasters with your inventions and creations! Zombie Strike is still starting out, I think we are still waiting for the flagship blaster! Rebelle are decent blasters (some poor ones Heartbreaker...!).

    ReplyDelete
  21. The Blue and White will be around for a while yet, N-Strike (yellow) is still kicking around, albeit pretty rare to see on shelves

    ReplyDelete
  22. It is! Mega and other range accessories too :)

    ReplyDelete
  23. Robbie I think we will all be picking it up man :D

    ReplyDelete
  24. Scorpio - watch this space. All the Elite blasters are getting a make over. Some completely replaced.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Scorpio the Banan clips will be limited in capacity, so those cs-18 clips are still in demand :)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Ethan they are 100% compatible man. The new White RC is part of the new range. I think they thought more white looked better than an oj mess!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Could be a secondary scheme like how the Longstrike and raider were randomly blue while the rest of n strike was yellow (excluding the UPS)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Does it go on tax rails?

    ReplyDelete
  29. So I can put it on my Rapidstrike AWESOME

    ReplyDelete
  30. Will all this be at toy fair?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Will the new Orange/White Vulcan be released in the US?

    ReplyDelete
  32. First that was kinda retorical, second u said EVERY blaster is getting the OJ so we will have a redo or a repaint

    ReplyDelete
  33. Will the new Orange/White Vulcan be released in the US?

    ReplyDelete
  34. From what you said I can infer that Dart Tag is getting completely redone.
" I believe there will be 6 new laser sights, 3 for Elite (includes Mega), 1 Dart Tag (hint hint), Zombie Strike and 1 for Vortex. The Stocks and Sights again there should be 6 broken down in the same fashion"
Also, is the Demolisher full-auto? Or semi-auto?

    ReplyDelete
  35. The OJ stryfe is wal mart exclusive right?
Plus the OJ stryfe and roughcut aren't limited edition right?

    ReplyDelete
  36. The demolisher will have to be full auto, seeing as it only runs on AA batteries.

    ReplyDelete
  37. No aa usually denotes semi auto

    ReplyDelete
  38. Will the demolisher still use the elite purple/orange darts? Or are they bringing in new tech for the darts as well?

    ReplyDelete

It must be semi automatic; a full-auto mech could not fit in there since it has a detachable stock. This thing could be a beast if you plug the pump, remove the AR, and remove all electronic locks. Definitely considering buying this.

  40. looks like a m4 style nerf gun wish they would keep the blue but i can go back to orange.Hope they remake the scopes and keep them to stay and make a m16a1 lookish nerf blaster.

    ReplyDelete
  41. i hope the laser sights make a return i had the sight from the long shot but lost it.
