Nerf Super Soaker Alphafire Blaster 4-Pack Value Pack

OK! the first thing that strikes me about these new blasters is the packaging. Love it. It really stands out and would make me want to find out what they're all about! I love the design on the Hydrostorm and 40 FEET range on the Barrage  BUT - That's kinda where the love ends.

It looks like Hasbro has taken a step BACK not forward. What has happened to the clip-fed soaking? They are almost border-line cheap looking and that is not what you have come to expect from Hasbro. Some of these blasters don't look like they would survive an accidental drop or tumble. Is it too much to expect real trigger action evolution? (Super Soaker is all about the pump action right?). Or is that in fact devolving the range? The new colour scheme is indeed a nice change, but I agree with the whole replication of blasters of varying design but no real new innovation. I have at best a handful of Super Soakers, and I can't see myself picking up anymore. I think in the future we MAY see new blasters integrating clips, but who knows. They would be shooting themselves in the foot here, but perhaps its a cost saving exercise to lose clips?

I was thinking that we would see a step forward and see more Super Soaker accessories? Some Stocks at least if not bigger clips.

Disappointed, but they herald the start of the new 2014 Nerf ranges so chin up and on we go, eh?

  1. WOW. Those are all extremely TERRIBLE.

Seriously, they need to get it together when it comes to the super soaker line.

    1. Rolley I totally hear you man! I don't know what has gone wrong... I remember Hasbro saying that plastic is getting expensive - maybe that's why we see no clip-fed stuff?

  3. Half of these look like crap I would get from a Burger King Kids Meal. And where the hell are the triggers? Jesus... I miss Larami

  4. I don't "hate" the new colour scheme, but I MUCH preferred the last one. Sure the bright colours look more "summer-y", but it comes off as a step back as many say. The NSS Double Drench Blaster is also one I would have wanted in the last series instead, and I am not at all trilled at the Shotwave, Flash Blast, and the odd Scatter Blaster re-shells. And who didn't fall in love with those banana clips? Give me the Tornado Strike and Switch Shot anyday!

I think Nerf saw themselves catering to an older audience then they wanted and are now trying to seem more "kid-friendly" again... but who makes the money to buy all your blasters Hasbro? Us 30-or-so working class kids that's who! Just look at how the actors/models look almost 10 years apart between the last few series and the newer ones... N-Strike included!

Sorry Hasbeen [sic], my Super Soaker collecting ends here!
