A super thank you to everyone checking in on to see how I've been since my surgery, and for all your well wishing. Truly you folks are so damn good, I am sincerely touched by all your messages. How am I doing? Real good, I'm moving off crutches and starting to walk around again. I did have a tumble down the stairs, but thanks to Bear Grylls it turned it in to an awesome combat roll and escaped any major harm.
Since I've been bedridden and pc/internet banned, it's been good to take a back seat for a while and enjoy being a regular Nerf fan. Thanks to Southern Brisbane Nerf Club for all the updates, but not for one of them having to take time out from the blogging scene. Rob has given us a lot of great news, and kept us in the loop on much of the breaking news and updates. Rob is such a genuine, awesomesauce guy, I am really sad to see him hang up the boots. Since the departure of Urban Taggers, we haven't seen anyone pick up where he left off. I personally thought SBNC was doing a good job there, so this is more of a "see you later" than a "goodbye".
I also have to say a major thank you to Rob for arranging Hasbro Australia to mail out an Elite Pin Point Sight from their personal stash! I was pretty blown away when I opened the packaging up. So expect an unboxing of it and much more plus a bit of an accessory rant :)
SouthernBrisbaneNerfClub broke the news of a new Elite Orange paint scheme blasters. Speaking to Hasbro UK, I got the info that Orange is the new Nerf Elite Blue. They're simply refreshing the Elite range with a new look, there will be no new internals or any kind of external work.
I mentioned back at last years 2013 London Toy Fair, that N-Strike was being phased out. Well that is still the plan, but now they're adding the Nerf Elite Blue blasters to the list. As retailers work thru selling off the old N-Strike (yellow) blasters, they will now no longer be able to order Elite Blue blasters. Instead they will be stocking the new Elite Orange Whiteout scheme. UK Fans will be able to start ordering/seeing new Rough Cut and Stryfe scheme blasters on shelves from Boxing Day! Don't worry tho, there is plenty of time to pick up those blasters you still don't have in your collection!
Nerf N-Strike Elite Havoc Vulcan, priced at whopping £54.99. Speaking to Hasbro UK, they confirmed that Argos commissioned a refresh Elite scheme blaster. Apparently the old blaster scheme was a success, that they wanted this to be included in the refresh. I can confirm nothing new inside, nothing reworked and vamped up, not even a new shell of any kind. A little sad that this could have been more than we could have expected.
aaand as promised, not to disappoint you UK Nerf fans...
Nerf UK confirmed that they will officially have Zombie Strike goods in stock coming January 2014. Keep those eyes peeled for some 3rd party retailers ahead of that release date (i.e Amazon.co.uk - despite being insane prices...). We can expect the whole range trickle thru - with some changes to the HvZ bandanas and armbands. Keep calm and Zombie on right? ;)
To celebrate my first A-Nerfversary, I am going to have a New Years giveaway once I get my hands on some goodies to give away. A major "want" has been a bunch of Rapidstrikes... so why not! More news on this as soon as I can.
Take care, hope you are having a wonderful Xmas holiday, and tho I feel a bit rusty and away from home right, I can't review anything properly that I had wanted. I'm excited to get back on the bloggerbike :)
Take it easy folks!
