"Zombie Strike? Oh no no no no, that would just be a rumour"

So I got in touch with my contact at Target Head Office regarding the Zombie Strike release dates, and anything else in the catalogue for that product range after I got emails from fans that the range has been pulled. The response I got was very... odd.

"We don't have that listing in our catalogue range, check the website, to stay up to date with new releases you are specifically searching for"

Ok so I did this morning.

I got back in touch to say... the listings have disappeared. What gives? This was the response:

"Zombie Strike? Oh no no no no, that would just be a rumour"

Maybe I've been sat in the sun too long.

I spoke to Hasbro yesterday and the response I was given was that they no knowledge of any Zombie Strike range. Perhaps the comment that Target runs all the advertising for it's own exclusives is true. I just found it very odd that no one is taking ownership of the brand (uhm what's this?)

Now it was stated at the TF Conference that we would be seeing partners taking a more active role in developing products. This seems to be true as we are seeing the ZS and Sonic ICE range as exclusives to Target. I would assume they are going to Hasbro, and working with them to make these new ranges. Now this isn't a bad thing at all, it's more money for Hasbro and well, cash for the partners. Fans can only win.. right?

  1. Oh for gods sake... Hasbro should just quit screwing around and accept that some nerf fans are not full retard and know about what's coming up. They need to just be open about prototypes that get leaked otherwise they just look stupid.

  2. So, if no one claims ownership, does that mean that someone in the NIC still can file a patent for the idea?

  3. I'm hoping for a mid-July release on the Zombiestrike series honestly, since it doesn't exactly seem logical they would throw out the Rapidstrike, Rebelle, Revonix, and the Centurion out in August in one big cluster of releases.

  4. Oops! Too late. Hasbro already filed a patent on "Zombie Strike" which you can find on http://www.trademarkia.com/zombie-strike-85952114.html

Either I'm reading this wrong or this is a good indication for a release date (aka somewhere in July)

  5. The less the public knows about the upcoming zombie apocalypse, the easier it will be to maintain order and keep people from panicking. :)

  8. That's...confusing. I went to Target yesterday to check on the Hammerstrike DPCI for fun, and the employee told me that it would be released August 5. The whole Nerf section seemed kinda off too. They were shoved to a less traveled area of the store, only the EAT, Rough Cut, Hailfire, and Pyragon were available, and they were all mixed in with other things. Not sure what's going on over there, though I guess it's just the off season for Nerf?

  9. Playing the "Dumb card" when your fans are clearly educated on the matter doesn't help. OR... we could just accept the fact that whomever fielded your question was oblivious to this new lineup since they probably just work for them and don't care about new products like we do. It's a job for them, it's a hobby for us.
