Official Hasbro UK release date and lowdown on the Nerf Elite Rapid Strike CS-18

The official Hasbro release date in the UK - August 1st! Finally after months of waiting! The US have finally acknowledged this blaster officially, and the go ahead has been given to now be able to cover it.

UK and European fans (not sure about US?) can check out The Entertainer who have a listing up and also an article about their Top 10 for Xmas toys for 2013.

I have to say, having been made to sit back and watch everything in the NIC, the comments and discussions happening, that this has been to date, one of the most talked about, most anticipated blasters to date.

So what do we know so far? Here is the official Sales Description:

(HASBRO/Ages 8 years & up/Approx. Retail Price: £39.99/Available: Fall 2013) In the heat of battle, speed can often determine the difference between victory and defeat. With the lightweight, high-speed N-STRIKE ELITE RAPIDSTRIKE CS-18 blaster, the first fully-motorized N-STRIKE ELITE blaster, victory is close at hand! The RAPIDSTRIKE CS-18 blasts at an impressive rate of 3.2 darts per second, sending each dart flying up to 75 feet. The lightweight design and adjustable stock allow for ultimate foam blasting fun. Compatible with the N-STRIKE ELITE Clip System and comes complete with the first-ever clear N-STRIKE ELITE 18 dart clip and 18 N-STRIKE ELITE darts.

To date we have seen a multitude of images and videos, but I got to say this was the most impressive and thorough videos from Purizoo and our resident rangemaster RandomShadow09 (do we expect anything less from this guy?)

First up, is Purizoo unboxing of the Rapidstrike CS-18 (love this video):

Ok, so range test time, I will let The Rangemaster take on over from here:

This is a Stock range test - details below:
"This is a range test for the Nerf N-Strike Elite RapidStrike CS-18. This is a fully automatic flywheel blaster.

Shots were fired flat at shoulder height. There were no adverse weather conditions."

Low: 30ft
Mid: 44ft
High: 49ft
The same blaster... with a voltage mod - his comments below:
"This is a range test for the Nerf N-Strike Elite RapidStrike CS-18 with increased voltage. The voltage comes varying amounts of Trustfire 14500 batteries. As always with voltage mods, you're running the risk of killing your motors, so do this at your own risk.

Shots were fired flat from shoulder height. A slight breeze was present at times during the test, identical to the stock range test video. Nothing that should have messed with ranges (notice all the shots stay down the center), but since I'm filming with an iPhone 4 the mic isn't the best, so it sounds much worse than it was."

Results (8.4 volts):     Results (12.6 volts):      Results (16.8 volts):
Low: 41ft                   Low: 43ft                       Low: 39ft
Mid: 54ft                    Mid: 64ft                       Mid: 62ft
High: 68ft                  High: 73-74ft                 High: 80ft

In regards to event coverage, we recently saw Basic Nerf, Click Click Bamf, Adult Fans of Nerf, ShiningFoam, Nerf Haven and Nerf Revolution were invited to attend the Nerf Summer Bash aka #NerfMega Party in New York.

#NerfMega Summer Bash

Props to FoamFromAbove who also attended for taking the time to write up an extensive coverage for the event - be sure to check it out.

Diaries of a Nerf Armourer  got their hands on the Rapid Strike CS-18 recently, and gave the NIC a first real insight at a full breakdown of the Elite blaster. Check their ongoing coverage unboxing, Internals A, Internals B and Internals C. Whilst these guys are seasoned HvZ gamers, I was surprised they still champion the Stampede even if the RS needs some veteran trigger discipline to make it worth packing.

So the search begins to bag my own Rapid Strike CS-18, and see if it really is all it appears to be. As a fan of the Stryfe, i'm keen to see how this big brother performs - tho I have concerns with the fact the RS seems to jam. A lot.
So cmon - who's going to be picking this up?? xD

  1. Nice bro!

I can't wait to get mine! Managed to lock one down before they got puled from another UK mate! Will be coming this week! Will prob buy another 2 or so! :D

    1. Super jelly bro hahah - what's with the stockpile? :D Prepping for that Zompoc? :D

    2. HAHAHAHA! I just wanna be ready... lol! ^_^ Have you got one? Didja end up getting one during the rush!?

  2. Must be good to finally get that off your chest eh?

    1. Hah, tell me about it. I'm seriously doubting I will go to next years Toy Fair. It was nice, don't get me wrong, but it was not worth seeing/playing what I did vs being so disconnected from the NIC.

I mean even to the point that I wasn't even allowed to purchase the blaster - that's a little too extreme for my liking.

    2. you gotta figure out if its personally fulfilling or not mld. thanks for the release dates

    3. OHHHHHhh... I see.... damage bro! Sounds like you've put yourself at a stalemate. If it's all the same bro, I value this blog and everything that you're doing for us in the NIC!

But I think it's your turn to let it rip on the field and get in the pwnzone! (if you're not already) peow peow!

  3. I have shot over 200 darts through mine since yesterday and had 1 jam, which was an already bent dart that the kids put in one of the mags. Otherwise it has been great. You have to watch the jam door sliding open if you throw it around alot, I had it slide open twice in 2 hours. Battle testing begins on 19th July!

  4. Oh I do quite hope they're able to get the Rapidstrike out in the US in late-July or August 1st along with the Centurion..

  5. Any clues of when is it going to be released in malaysia perhaps?

  6. Flywheel Automatic blaster??

So the Rapidstrike uses the F.A.B. mechanism? That's so FABULOUS!! 8D

Amazing blaster, can't wait for it.

  7. Yeah! Release date announced at last! Thanks for the coverage MyLastDart, will be releasing more vids soon!
