Hasbro unveil a fresh load of Zombie Strike WANT @ San Diego Comic Con (SDCC)

Hasbro have not failed to unveil a load of new WANT at the San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) this year. From unveils of many new lines, Nerf fans have been given an awesome, and much responsive answer to critics, an insight by NERF on the upcoming Zombie Strike.

Yep! I wonder how Gnarwhal Studios are thinking about all of this. I recently did an interview with them that I will be throwing up once I've edited it fully. They did hint to me about doing a new range... has Hasbro approached for a license... and these fellas (quite rightly) have cashed in?

So props to Matthew Buckingham and William Mills and Jacob FunkyMuthafacko Hovie for the heads up. Before the pic dump, check the video coverage found by Pocket from good friend Atamaii (thanks for the email btw :D):

Things to note from the video:

The Zombie Strike Sledge Fire has had a lot of buzz about it with it's new firing mechanism. It would be as I suspected to fire the 3 rounds in the flechette BUT we see a  clearly a holding pin. I think this assists the exit of the 3-spread-shot-dart system and retains the shell round INSIDE the blaster. It does not eject it is my impression. This would make sense, because people are going to lose this stuff, and worse if people run over them, etc. we are not going to be happy as customers to keep rebuying the shells. Your thoughts?

We see the butt of the Zombie Strike Fusefire and it appears to answer the "continuous feed" feature isn't like what many of us thought to be like the Vigilon's internal loading mechanism. It looks like we see a more sexier streamline system not only possibly in the torsion system but instead of the Nerf Vortex Proton blaster, we see a priming system that allows you to insert a disc behind the already chambered XLR round.

Also the Crossfire is single barrel with a dart holder at the muzzle end of the blaster. So it would appear to be front-loading from this demo stand, rather than a rear butt loading blaster or side slide system.

Super props to naazrael for this scoop. He will be heading back today with a camera for better shots!

There are a few images that got my attention off the bat:

We see new products straight away thanks to the snappers! The Z-Bomb (reminds me of the old Super Soaker Burst water-ball-bombs.
But the more I look at it, I feel this is simply just a Nerf football with an accessory stand. They seem to come with ninja-star-disc-gears. Whether these are just for show or actually have a practical use is anyones guess. I have often wondered about the old Holy Water killing undead thing. EDIT: have had emails about some Zombie Strike Super Soakers being sighted in Beijing. What would you hazard a guess what these are?

They have also taken advantage of those Military surplus store accessories of molle's etc. I'm no HvZ'er but if these are to rival sock grenades... it looks like a max of 2 a molle. Maybe you can push to 3. Whatever the case, they are definitely in direct competition with HvZ socks. Remember, Nerf still have a patent on Nerf Zombie Strike balls. It is very well that these are the patent that was filed not so long ago.

This really threw me off. Is it a spin top for target practice...? Or just collectible stands.

BoOm!! You can't have a range without a Jolt :D Hahah, this one is rocking the Zombie Neon Green, along with a dart holder. Super awesome, it's cute and comes with 3 targets - I would think they're popping targets :)

Hi-ho-holster! This is funky. I have to say super props for this Nerf. It appears to let you hold 4 darts (maybe x3 a side?). What else this might fit I don't entirely know, AFoN have said on multiple occasions that this will also be compatible with the NSE Firestrike pistol blaster. Oh baby, dual wield time! I would definitely look to rigging these up on a bandolier. Hah.

Southern Brisbane Nerf Club using their super powers of persuasion? We finally see new N-Force coming back - I originally saw plain black ones of these at the London Toy Fair amongst many others. Unfortunately this is all I can say after checking my NDA with Hasbro. I just want to see this:

If this hasn't been enough for your eyes, you can check More pics from Jet. I think this has nearly hit the spot, but I don't think we have seen the real Zombie Strike flagship blaster - ZSwinchester rifle *cough*

We satisfied with what we see?  Will these items be making a way into your HvZ loadout?

  2. I'm crossing my fingers that the sidestrike and crossfire and this new n force stuff will also be elite, I mean come on Hasbro they still have the n strike elite logo on them! How hard could it be, or maybe it's planned. Any thoughts?

    1. The dart blasters do boast Elite ranges, they stated that in the product descriptions released to the blogs last week. :D

Nope. I can strap a dozen socks to a belt, half a dozen to a blaster, stuff my pockets with them, or just run like a sock-ninja with a bagfull. These foam bonkers won't be challenging the stand-by weapon of socks any day of the week.

And MLD, wouldn't it be likely for an HVZ-licensed line of blasters to, you know, actually have the HVZ logos on them? The only thing this is capitalizing on is our society's overdue fascination with zombies- they're not building these blasters to target the player on the college campus, only using them as a way to create interesting new designs.

I'll certainly be buying the Hammershot, but as for the rest of these gimmicks... well, we'll see, and that's certainly NERF's line of thought, as they want to see what sells.

  4. I am hoping the crossbow functions like the triad and the rough cut. Looks possible!

  5. gonna be f****** awesome! wonder why the hammerhead and the sledge fire look so different than the other generic green blasters like the ricochet. I prefer the hamm. and sledge. looks. One of the best is those bombs and the machete. Awesome!
