Bankcroft.de review the New Nerf Zombie Strike Sledge Fire!

Certainly happened quickly ;) Stay tuned for more fun stuff with these guys ;)

AWESOME :D That sound in the hallway was brutal.

As I suspected, the shells do not eject (thank god for that - who wants to be searching for these?). Worse who wants to keep buying new ones because you lost them or someone stepped on them.

The team have got the internals shots as well for you below:

Hasbro seem to be embracing the aesthetic side of modding with stencils allowing fans to customise their blasters! Epic idea! We saw Hasbro SG embrace this by promoting and highlighting aesthetic mods by fans, and even going as far as to say that this is part of the hobby.

Mod potential much? Can I get a hells yeah!

  1. Looks like it is easy enough to remove the ammo stock if desired... glad to see it isn't all one big piece... and really hoping someone can mod it to fire a single new MEGA dart...

    1. It is like a single barreled BarrelBreak.

You press the tab in the top/back to release the barrel. Pushing it down primes the blaster. Slide in a 3 dart cartridge, close, and fire.

When you open it again, some internals pop up the empty cartridge to make it easy to remove before putting in a new one.

  5. Does it ONLY fire 3 darts at once or can it fire them off individually? I'm hoping the Sledge has a 3-step trigger of sorts.

    1. All at once. This is a shotgun. When a real shotgun shell fires, all of the shotblast inside flies out at the same time.

If you want to fire a single dart one after the other, use a clip system blaster.

If you want to fire three darts at once, use a sledgefire.

    2. Or, if you want versatility in this regard, get the Rough Cut (could get the Barrel Break but... no), which does have a two-stage trigger that can operate as a shotgun in most scenarios or can single fire off two shots from one pump. Just saying.

I didn't expect it to have a three stage trigger, because that would require three separate plungers, and I think it's totally cool that it just runs with one big plunger going into three parts of a shell. I won't be getting this, as I already have a good shotty in my Rough Cut, but I will advise my friend to get this one instead for some awesome variety.

    1. There are lots of stats in it, very Teutonic and thorough. He talks. About the ergonomics, firing sequence and range etc. My German is as rusty as rusty can be though.

    2. What do you wanna know? it is a review. He is talking about what do you see. How he aims the weapon, how far it shoots (20 meter max). He compares it to the buzzbee Shotgun and that the sledge Fire is far better. He tells that he can only fire all darts at once.
He rates the blaster in the categories and explains his rating.
Finally at the view on the interior he tells how easy you can tak off the Shoulder Stock, and that he is waiting for the modwork of the community for this nice blaster.

    3. Per your request, we added an English subtitle. Enjoy!

  7. This is really cool, I would like it very much if nerf made a pump action version of this like a good old Mossberg.

  8. I want to know how firmly the sledgefire stays on the blaster because I know that when I try to swing the buzzbee front into place, I broke the tiny little plastic that held it together. either way, totally excited for this, prepared to throw down money for the Machete, hammershot, and sledgefire.

    1. As far as I can say, everything is pretty solid. However I'm not sure, if I totally got your question. If you want to know what I was talking about in the review, I have just uploaded a proper English subtitle for all the non-Germans in the world. ;)

    3. Think that Anonymous was asking if it is sturdy or not as from what I read it appears he broke his buzzbee Doubleshot at the hinge that connects the barrels to the body of the blaster.

    4. Hello! I asked the question earlier, and yes anon, that was what I was asking. Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the answer. From what I saw after looking at the video again, the hinge does look very well built so I'm glad I don't have to worry about it breaking.

  9. With this blaster, a recon, a dremel, and a carving board, we could make a monster, massacre, lever action rifle! *drools on self*

  10. This is going to be a tough fight against the Rough Cut. Yes, it only does 2 shots at a time, but it holds all 8 at once and doesn't need to be reloaded between shots. So while your total volume of fire might be slightly less, your ROF is going to be much higher. Especially if you consider the Slam Fire option. You also get greater versatility as you have the option for single fire as well.

This looks pretty cool, but I'm not convinced it overcomes the negatives. Especially since I'm inclined to believe it's pretty inaccurate. Who cares if you're shooting three shots at once if they can't actually hit anything. At closer ranges are you really gaining an advantage over firing a single dart (and then not being obviously empty)?

  11. This is mostly a style-only blaster, practical use and effectiveness is very limited. We will see some crazy paintjobs on this one, however.
The spring looks very stiff but, looking at the distance the bar that connects the hinge to the plunger rod travels, it compresses only a little bit. Pre-tensioning the spring should work but if you go too far, breaking open the blaster will be difficult;)
I do have a good modding idea for this one, once I get one that I can keep for myself:)

    1. hey, don't say that stuff about the sledgefire. With sufficient modding and practice, this will become a practical weapon.
I absolutely hate people saying bad things about it.
All you guys ever do is complain.
Why don't you ever try and make impractical blasters practical and not by the means of integration or turned into a secondary.
stop complaining and start solving the problem and posting the video on how you solved it on YouTube.
      Be positive

  13. Got it and love the fact that you can unscrew and remove the ammo stock without needed to cut or fill in with compound.Just need to sand the name and nerf off, paint, and add leather grip.
