1st of March was the release date set of the Exclusive Hasbro Nerf product for and an Iconic blaster to be added to fans weapon caches.

Much of this has been an affair of rumours, and "What will Hasbro do with the old Alpha Trooper?", "How will they approach the Elite makeover? Is it going to be simply a reshell?" and "When will we see it?".

If you have been away to the Moon as of late, here is (with many thanks to) BasicNerf for this EAT coverage via his YouTube channel:

To confirm, for all you US EAT fans - The USA is getting the Elite Alpha Trooper in the Spring, and it's going to be a Target Exclusive.

Great job BasicNerf for that heads up :)

Ok back on track - it was much to my dismay that my package of Elite Alpha Troopers from Hasbro had been delayed - my first thought was the Postal Depot having a massive foam war...

I spoke to Argos Head Office and asked them what was going on with the mess of the 1st of March release?

Whilst told to wait for their official response, I was not prepared to wait around, so I did a bit more digging and found out from a Logistics contact at their Head Office:
"Firstly I'm very sorry for any disappointment on this release. It has been a mixed case of misjudging demand and distribution issues. It is our intention for national release, and we have been unable to fully stock all Stores for this. Nerf is a very popular range, we simply did not foresee this heavy demand, along with distribution issues further slowing things down. I can however confirm UK fans will be able to order online 30th March 2013 for Home Delivery."

Whilst the in-Store purchase release date has not been confirmed, I suspect this date of 30th March is most likely to hold for general release. like a majority of large scale retailers handle launches of goods in a dual manner (high-street/online at the same time).

I also asked this morning regarding this snippet of info a customer got when he walked in to pick up his EAT at Argos on the 1st March:

Argos said:
"Whilst this is unlikely due to March 30th Home Delivery online date confirmation, it can happen on occasion. An item such as this, it is in the extreme case that he was told this"

So folks, hold on to your nuggets, and be ready to ram-raid a store near you on the March 30th :)

How many of you plan to pick up(or 2) up? A question to all you modders - what plans do you hold in store for the EAT? :) Let me know your thoughts, as always I will pass them straight on to Hasbro.
