Feedback from Hasbro!

Just an email exchange with the Hasbro team:

"Many thanks Asif, the points raised have been insightful and can change our path of development on future generation blasters. We appreciate everything you do, and it was a pleasure meeting at the Toy Fair"
I encourage you all to keep the thoughts and feedback coming on what you would like to see in the next gen Nerf blasters, accessories, etc

Feel free to post your thoughts here, thanks guys keep it up! I will collect the feedback from here, and update them as time goes.

  1. Here's some feedback: sell more accessories! If they won't sell packaged at retail, at least let us buy them as replacement parts off Hasbro's site. Accessories like 12 round mags, drums, foregrips, forends, stocks, scopes/sights, etc.

    1. Thanks very much for this - I have drawn a lot of attention to this point, because you hit the nail on the head here.

      Thanks

  2. Is Asif you? do you have any idea what blaster nerf is referring to has changed development path? is this one of 3 to come out in Sep?

    1. It is, and I can't speak as to which blaster this refers to due to the NDA. I hope they will clear me to comment on what it is. But keep the feedback and suggestions coming please!

  3. Most of the time with the clip fed blasters there isn't much to distinguish them once you get past what powers it. For instance, I don't see any difference between the Alpha Trooper and the Raider, other than a different magazine arrangement.
I am led to a bunch of confusion as to which to buy, because it seems they both achieve the same thing, or at least intend to.
Specialize the blasters more! Make the strengths and weaknesses more noticeable (except the jamming, I'd like that one to be less of a problem XD). Maybe package the Alpha Trooper with a carrying strap and a folding stock, give it the personality of a paratrooper carbine.

I love the more recent designs, such as the 2x4, that one is awesome! It filled a niche for a practical shotgun.

    1. I'd like the see the alpha trooper with a drum, because I kinda liked the 18 round drum vs the 18 round clip.

Also, folding stocks in general have been bad (spectre had no stability). Maybe they could create a better one, but I'd rather see a collapsable power stock from nerf. As the alpha trooper is primarily popular among modders/HVZ players, a power stock would make the alpha trooper a must have.

    2. I think this is a great idea. As cool as an "ultimate blaster that's the best at everything" would be, having balanced pros/cons for each is way more fun (think any modern first person shooter video game). I'd love to see a long range/accurate blaster that's slow to reload, a short range multishot, long range, medium/low accuracy full auto, etc.

    1. But what about...
      FULL. AUTO. ELITE. AWESOMENESS.

  5. Holsters. Some online are just too expensive. Make some generic sidearm holsters to fit most small guns like the german company.

  6. Hey mld, do you feel that Hasbro is leading more towards efficient flywheels or developing on DP systems?

  7. I second the holsters. On the Nerf vests they should probably make the fabric for the holsters a bit bigger to fit other guns like a Vigilon, or maybe a Retaliator without the mag. Maybe a half inch or so of fabric would do.

On any blaster with both a slide and a stock, put some kind of catch or knob like a charging handle so that you can cock the blaster like it was bolt action. So for example, if the Retaliator had a small knob on the side you could push the slide back forward while it had a scope on it.

Speaking of the Vigilon (which I love), maybe try making a version that accepts detachable magazines? Even if the price was raised to match the Lumitron, I think the Vigilon is probably the single most reliable Vortex blaster.

    1. Which is unfortunately because it has the integrated magazine.

      But yes, best vortex IMO.

  8. Sorry for late post, but here's some ideas.
    - Air powered rapid fire weapon (sort of like a magstrike)
    - Long range sniper
    - Titan that (stock) shoots elites
    - Pinpoint sight for sale
    - ATTACHMENTS!
